CABOOSE

a terminal-native ai coding agent built in rust. single binary, fast startup, no electron. supports multiple llm providers (anthropic, openai, ollama, openrouter), persistent sessions, an extensible skills system, and an embedded terminal — all in a rich tui with syntax highlighting and markdown rendering.

this started as an exploration of what agentic coding tools could look like outside of an ide. i wanted something that lived in the terminal, felt native, and didn't require a subscription to a specific editor. caboose is that — a standalone agent you can point at a codebase and work with directly.
